Coconut payasam - 5 min payasam - south Indian dessert

Hi there...


Payasam is my all time favourite..
But I never get to taste this in my childhood...

Recently I made this, I really like this, so i had a reason to make it once again for this blog...

So delicious... With health benefits too...

Grinding the coconut into creamy paste along with few soaked rice,
Boiling it with jaggery .. and garnishing with cashew or any nuts of your choice...


Ingredients :

. 1/2cup grated coconut
. 2 tblspn rice
. 1/2 cup jaggery
. 1-2 cardamon
. 1& 1/2 cup water
. Salt : as required
. Few cashews
. 2-3 tblspn ghee


Method :

Step 1
. Soak the rice for 15 mins

Step 2
. Take garted coconut in a mixer jar, add soaked rice, & coardamon

Step 3
. Add half a cup water & grind into smooth creamy paste


Step 4
. Trasfer the paste into saucepan..

Step 5
.let it boil for 3 min



Step 6
. Add jaggery & salt.. stir well.. let the jaggery melts
  Boil for 3-4 min

Step 7
. Roast some cashew nuts with ghee in pan..

Step 8
. Give a slight mix .

Step 9

. Creamy healthy coconut payasam is ready to serve .



Serve it hot,
Best to have as a evening drink..
