Murukku is an authentic south indian snack, made for all sounth indian festival...
There are many varieties of murukku ....
Ribbon murukku, kara murukku, kai murukku, butter murukku .... And lot more ..
Murukku is basically clay consistency of rice flour and gram flour mixed with salt & water....
And squeezed into a murukku presser and deep fried in the oil, until it turn crisp & brown...
Ingredients :
. Gram flour 1/2 kg
. Rice 1 k
. Butter 100 g
. Sesame 10 g
. Red chilli 10
. Cummin seed 1-2 tblspn
. Oil 1 lit
. Salt
Method :
Step 1
. Wash the rice with water 2-3 times...
Step 2
. Soak it in the water for 4 hrs
Step 3
. After 4 hrs, trasfer into a mixer jar/ grinder..
Step 4
. Add Red chillies, into the mixer jar and grind into course paste with adding water ..
Step 5
. Add melted butter into the dough, add required salt.. knead till fluffy dough
Step 6
. Grease the murukku kulal with butter or oil
. Fill the dough inside the murukku kulal..
Step 7
. Heat oil in a thick bottom kadai...
Step 8
. Pressure the murukku into the oil
Step 9
. Cook for a min in medium flame untill golden brown & crisp.
Step 10.
. Remove from the oil, trasfer it over a newspaper or tissue paper...
Step 11
. Yummlicious crispy butter murukku is ready...
